TOPIC: AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSEHOLD.
BIBLE READING: JOSHUA 24:14-16
MEMORY VERSE: “…but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” – Jos.24:15
MESSAGE
Joshua admonished the Israelites to serve the living God. But he knew that he could not force them to serve God. They had the freedom to do whatever they liked. Humans have some level of freedom. But Joshua made it clear that the people might choose to or not to serve God, but he could compel his household to do so. If he was not in control of his house, how could he lead the whole nation?
All of us need to be in control of our houses. If each household is well adjusted, the society will surely be in good order. The people replied that they could not forsake God. They had no choice but to follow Joshua’s example.
