TOPIC: NOT BY BREAD ALONE
BIBLE READING: MATT.4:4
MESSAGE
The naked truth is that there is more to life than food. It is not only the physical food that is needed for the overall sustenance of man. The reasons are that man is not just body but also spirit and soul. Man’s spirit and soul only dwell in a body. Bread or physical food only takes care of the flesh or body; i.e. a third of your being, since your body or flesh dwells in time and not in eternity, you will only be taking care of your life on this earth and forfeiting the care of your eternity.
When you stuff your body and starve your spirit, you end up starving your destiny because your spirit is the real determinant of life and destiny. Your body is just a container. The point is, what really sustains life is not food but the Word of God.
Bread alone cannot handle the challenges of life. You cannot succeed in life with bread alone. To have a balance destiny, you need a balance diet of physical food, mental information and spiritual instruction or revelation.
